Correcting Bitmaps
GCPWorks is capable of geometrically correcting bitmap (1 bit deep) images;
however, some special considerations apply.
- In order to select bitmap layers on a PCIDSK database, it is necessary that
the database have no image channels.
- If the uncorrected image is a bitmap image, and Image To Image tiedown is
performed it is required that the georeferenced image also be a bitmap.
- Only the nearest neighbour resampling algorithm will work for bitmap
corrections. The user is permitted to select other resampling methods;
however, the user selection will be ignored.
- When creating a new output file to correct into it is necessary to create
one with only bitmap layers. It is impossible to use GCPWorks to create a
PCIDSK file with a bitmap segment; however, one could be created with
ImageWorks.
- Support for georeferencing has been added to the GDB TIFF support via
an auxiliary file, so that a bitmap product produced as a TIFF B file can
retain it's georeferencing.
